Staying Healthy and Productive During Cold & Flu Season

With the cold and flu season upon us, you’re among the industry that’s helping all of the meds get to where they need to go and ensuring that hospitals and clinics are well-stocked with supplies. But who is taking care of you? Here’s your reminder to prioritize your own well-being with these practical tips to help you feel good and productive during yet another busy season.

Support Your Immune System
A strong and healthy immune system is your strongest defense against illnesses. It’s always important to include nutrient-dense foods in your diet, especially during the cooler seasons when germs are more likely to spread. Opt for foods that are in season and rich in vitamin C and zinc, such as kiwi, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, carrots, and more. Make sure you’re also staying focused on hydration. For extra support, you can also consider a boost in the form of over-the-counter vitamins and supplements to provide your body with extra support.

Stay Active
Physical activity is another key component in supporting your overall health, which includes your invaluable immune system. Even with a busy schedule, it’s important to make time for some movement, whether it be a few brisk walks, stretching, or 30 minutes in the gym. Regular movement helps your body fight off unwarranted intruders and increase blood flow to defend against pathogens. Alongside supporting your immune system, exercise aids in reducing stress levels, keeping your body in optimal condition to fight off any bugs that may cross your path.

Practice Good Hygiene
As simple as it may seem, basic hygiene practices go a long way in fighting off unwanted germs. It’s important to take the time to thoroughly wash your hands with actual soap and water and use good-quality hand-sanitizer when on the go.

Prioritize Recovery
If you do start to feel some symptoms of an illness, always take the time to rest and recover. Allow your body the necessary time it needs to heal and avoid pushing yourself too hard—especially when you feel the start of symptoms. Taking proactive steps to recoup will help to speed up your healing process and prevent the spread of others in the workplace.

Facilitating the movement of essential goods, including medicines and health supplies, is critical year-round, but especially during the cold and flu season. It’s important to implement healthy and supportive practices into your daily routine to better protect your own well-being and contribute to maintaining smooth operations for your customers. We want everyone to feel good and healthy during one of the most demanding times of the year.
